Bengaluru-Mysuru International Film Fest to screen 170 films

The films will be shown at Orion Mall in Bengaluru and at Mall of Mysuru in Mysuru.

The International Film Fest, which is being hosted jointly by Bengaluru and Mysuru, will see 170 movies being screened this year. The film fest will kick off on January 28 and end on February 4. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told media on Monday that the film festival will be inaugurated by actress and Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan. Other notable personalities who will be part of the film fest include Bajirao Mastani director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dada Saheb Phalke award winner Gulzar among others.

Deccan Chronicle reports that Siddaramaiah said nearly 2,000 national and international film personalities will take part in the festival, which will have representation from over 50 countries. 172 Kannada, national and international films will be screened in the seven-day festival and more than 12,000 people can enjoy the festival in Bengaluru and Mysuru, said the CM.

In Bengaluru, films are going to be screened at Orion Mall and there will be films shown on 12 screens at a time. In Mysuru, films are going to be shown at the Mall of Mysuru near Race Course Road.

Siddaramaiah has stated that the festival will be inaugurated at the East Gate of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru and the closing ceremony in Mysuru front of Mysuru Palace. At the inaugural event, the movie Thithi, directed by Rama Reddy, grandson of former Chief Minister KC Reddy, is going to be screened, he added.
