Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon were all smiles as they launched the trailer of their next film Raabta. While the trailer has some great moments and is a testimony to the brilliant chemistry between the lead pair.

But the house was open to the media for them to ask questions and then, something awkward happened. A journalist questioned Kriti and Sushant about the recent news of Kulbhushan Jadhav receiving a death sentence in Pakistan. Given that it's a sensitive issue, the team dodged the question. Kriti whispered in Dinesh Vijan - the director's ears to not answer it and he replied saying, "This is not the right platform to talk about it."

And there were a few other questions that were asked after this. From fairness cream row to the nepotism issue, the team answered almost everything. Suddenly, a senior journalist who is reputed for being an editor and a guest columnist for several organisations stood up and told the team on stage - 'I feel this is a matter of natural concern and you shouldn't nudge it.'

Before Sushant could put his point across, the journalist slammed him left, right and centre even as Sushant kept saying, "Ma'am, give me a chance to speak." The reporter hit back saying, "No, let me finish first," and after she was done explaining, an angry Sushant told her, "I think somebody should not give his or her opinion if they are not well informed about the topic... because it's a sensitive thing. You need to be very well (informed). Please allow me some time."

Not just that, then the journalist asked him to simply condemn or not condemn the whole issue and Sushant said, ""To say yes condemn or no condemn, you need to be responsible enough to know the facts related to it." His Rabata co-star Jim Sarbh too backed him up and told the reporter, "Maybe we have not read enough to give a proper answer.""

But the journalist kept taunting and probing and it was then that Sushant lost his cool completely. The journalist mocked Sushant for not having enough knowledge regarding the issue, and said it's not right for a public figure to not have an idea about it. Sushant then cross-questioned her and said, "Why is it so wrong? Should I ask you a few questions related to national interest? Would you know all the answers? It is nowhere written that a public figure should know everything."

The whole social media has been slamming Sushant for the whole incident. But people are forgetting that everyone - whether a public figure or not - has their own right to answer or dodge any question directed at them. The journalist's job was to ask the question. Forcing Sushant to take a stand and then making an issue out of it and creating a ruckus in public when he didn't want to answer it, is wrong and unethical. You cannot simply force someone to express their personal opinions in public. It should be a choice and not a compulsion for actors to comment on something.

And before you jump the gun and blame Sushant for it, please read what actually happened again to understand the whole scenario.
