Be a smart shopper

1. Go in for the best offers. Even credit cards have great deals and help you spend effectively. If you have a card that offers you points on your purchases, make sure you redeem it. They can actually save quite a bit of money.

2. Make a list and keep re-checking to see if you really need all that. Cross out what is not so important.

3. Shop during sales. Just before the festive season is when all the great offers are on. Buy your presents then. Also, look at offers carefully and don’t get tempted by offers that seem ‘super’.

4. Are you the kind who has to wear only branded stuff? Try wearing unbranded clothes - they’re comfortable and great on the pocket.
