The makers of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After the movie's director SS Rajamouli released a video requesting protestors to let his film have an uninterrupted release and actor Sathyaraj aka Kattappa, himself released an apology video, the pro-Kannada activists protesting the release of the movie in Karnataka have finally decided to withdraw their protests and call off the bandh.

News agency ANI tweeted about the decisions. “Pro Kannada activists withdraw protest and call off bandh against movie Baahubali 2: Vattal Nagraj, Karnataka Rakshine Vaikeke” was what their tweet said. Another tweet they made informed “Ensure you don’t use derogatory terms against Kannadigas. If you do, your future movies will be banned in Karnataka: V Nagraj on Sathyaraj”.

Sathyaraj on Friday released an apology video, apologising for the comments he made nine years ago about the Cauvery water issue in the state. In the video, the actor said "I have got to know that what I had spoken during the Cauvery water crisis has created a lot of tension among the people of Karnataka. I am not against Kannadigas or Karnataka. The biggest example for this is that for the last 35 years my assistant has been Shekar who is a Kannadiga. I would like to apologise for the statement that I had made nine years back and would like to say that I am a small worker in Bahubali film and my comment should not affect the film. I appeal to Tamils to understand.”

Baahubali: The Conclusion will be released as per schedule on April 28, 2017.
