Baahubali 2 has possibly gate-crashed into all possible records in Indian cinema. And imagine a South film doing it with so much perfection. India needed a pan-India film and Baahubali 2 delivers exactly on that front.
The film, which is a sequel to the much successful Baahubali had collected Rs 650 crore plus gross globally. But now, it's taken the numbers a notch higher. While the opening of Baahubali 1 in Hindi was a rather dull one, it had picked up immediately, thanks to a great word of mouth that ensued.
Now the second part is here and so are the rough day one estimates. According to Boxofficeindia.com, the film will nett over Rs 100 crore for sure. That's huge, considering the highest an Indian film has netted in a day is again with Baahubali 2, which raked in over Rs 50 crore on day 1 when it released one and half years back.
Now, Baahubali 2 has more than doubled its collections. Here are the rough estimates. According to BOI, the film has netted over Rs 35 crore from its Hindi version alone which is mammoth. It has bypassed the previous record by Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 and become the highest non-holiday opener for any Hindi film ever.
From Andhra and Nizam which are its key centres, since it's made in Telugu, the film has amassed a whopping RS 45 crore plus nett approx. Tamil Nadu has added another Rs 14 crore (approx) whereas Karnataka and Kerala has piped another RS 10 crore and Rs 4 crore approx, respectively.
So according to the trade website, rough estimates suggest that the film has raked in around RS 110 crore nett from all its versions, in India alone. The overseas numbers are yet to be tabulated. As for the gross figure, it should be somewhere around the Rs 155-165 crore mark, which is humongous.
