Ayub has always been my first love: wife Niharika Khan

Ayub and Niharika Khan met during their college days at a party in Madh Island.

When Niharika got her first glimpse of Ayub, she was immediately attracted to him.

However, she thought he had a girlfriend and so resolved to stay away from him.

Later in the night, she observed some people including Ayub walking on the beach. All of a sudden, Ayub yelled out, "The sea is calling me," and dove into the ocean. The other people he was with continued their walk. Niharika was the first to notice that Ayub had disappeared. Ayub says, "I had tripped over a rock and hit myself. Niharika came to my rescue and pulled me out of the ocean."

The next day sparks began to fly and the pair began their courtship. They dated for eight months before Niharika decided to move to the United States.

Niharika recalls, "Right before I left, Ayub got down on one knee and proposed to me in an aquarium in Mumbai. I refused him as I thought we were too young to get married."

Ayub and Niharika, separated by distance, moved on and married other people.

They met again ten years later at a time when both their marriages were in trouble. Ayub says, "As luck would have it, we bumped into each other. After we were both divorced, there was no looking back and the rest is history."

Niharika says, "Ayub has always been my first love, he is the man for me."
