In the wake of the recent films that Bollywood has been making, bold, adult fare seems to be getting more acceptance of late. The latest buzz doing the rounds in B-Town is that of actor Neil Nitin Mukesh being offered an erotic thriller. While sources close to the actor insist that he has been offered a film, nothing has been confirmed as yet. “Anubhav Sinha has offered the film to Neil, which will reportedly go on the floors by the end of the year. It is an erotic thriller and saying anything more than that will be giving away the plot too soon,” the source says.

Neil, who is just back from a month-and-a-half long schedule from Fiji, where he had been shooting for a psychological thriller, says he is quite comfortable with the genre of adult films. “A little amount of titillation is necessary for the audience. It’s not like we haven’t been exposed to films like that, so this isn’t a big deal. This genre has been very well defined by the Bhatts since the past couple of years.” While he refuses to confirm if he has signed on the dotted line, he clarifies, “I have been offered the film and I do like the script, but it is still a work in progress. There won’t be anything earth shattering in it. We will make the film, keeping in mind the audiences’ sensibilities. If people want to only get titillated, then this genre won’t ever work,” he explains.

The actor is also super excited about a great mix of roles he has under his belt. A source close to him says, Neil’s calendar is choc-a-bloc with his shooting schedules. “Almost 90% of 3G is complete. There is a little bit of patchwork to be done on Shortcut Romeo, which will be done soon. After that he will be off to Canada and then Ooty to shoot for Bejoy Nambiar’s David. He is extremely excited about all his films and is quite content with the kind of roles coming his way.”
