After biopics, remakes and sequels are the next favourite in Bollywood. HT Cafe asked yesteryear actress Asha Parekh if she would like to see a remake of any of her films and she said, "It would be Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978). It has a beautiful story in which, the ‘other woman’ hasn’t been shown as a complete vamp. She also has feelings and emotions." Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki also starred the late veteran actors Nutan and Vinod Khanna, and is based on the Marathi novel Ashi Tujhi Preet.

In fact, Parekh reveals that she herself "preferred that role". "When Raj Khoslaji (director) came and narrated the subject to me, I knew it was a small role and not a very big one, and that by the interval, I would die. However, it was written beautifully by writer Dr Rahi Masoom Reza. I feel the role became very poetic by the end," she said.

The senior actress was mostly looked upon as a glam girl, throughout her career. "Yes, I did a number of so-called glamorous roles. But would feel upset, too, because critics never said that, 'I am a good actress.' However, when I did Do Badan (1966), and people realised that I could act, that gave me a lot of satisfaction. So, I did certain films that had a lot of emotions, gravity and 'acting' involved," Parekh said adding that she doesn’t miss acting. "I have had my fill, unless a very strong and concrete part comes my way and makes me rethink about acting," she said.
