Arrest warrants were issued on Friday against director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone after complaints that some scenes in their film Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela were hurtful to the religious sentiments of Hindus.

A warrant was also issued against Kishore Lulla, another producer and the lyricists for the same film. SP Singh, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Muzaffarpur, where the warrant was issued, has asked Mumbai Police to arrest them and produce them in his court on June 4.

These warrants were issued based on a complaint lodged by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha in November 2013, who alleged that the movie hurt religious sentiments of the Hindus.

The CJM took notice of the case in February 2014, and asked the director and actors to turn up, which they did not do, following which the warrants were issued against them.
