Often hailed as one of the greatest Bollywood gangster movies of all time, Zeishan Qadri revealed that Kashyap has started work on the third instalment of the movie.
There are few movies which enjoy cult status among Indian fans, so Kashyap fanboys will be exited to know that Anurag Kashyap is planning a sequel for Gangs of Wasseypur!
Zeishan Qadri revaled that Kashyap has started work on the third instalment of the movie. HT reported that Kashyap has asked Qadri to start working on the script and that he will direct. Qadri who wrote the original story and co-wrote Gangs of Wasseypur and played the part of Definite in the movie. The original Gangs of Wassyepur was a five-hour-long movie and divided into two parts for release in India.
According to Qadri, the plot of the sequel will revolve around real events that occurred in Wasseypur after events depicted in the older movie.
Kashyap's last movie Bombay Velvet, starring Anushka Sharma Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar flopped badly at the box office.
He had written on Facebook: “Its time to close the book and move on. its been a journey, as if one life is over with Bombay Velvet. a lot of people do not connect with it and a small number of people did. Maybe when the shock of the narrative wears down , you will revisit it in the calm of your homes and will get into it. Maybe our experimenting with the narrative didn't work for most but i firmly believe in the film. This is the film i wanted to make and i am glad i got to make it. I am very happy that all those who have been part of this journey firmly stand with it. No i am not depressed or hiding, this has taught us a lot and is my absolute personal favourite, there have been no regrets whatsoever.”
