According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, fillmaker Ketan Mehta has approached the Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW), asking Kangana Ranaut be booked for breach of trust. This is in context with the film that the actress has announced, titled Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi.
The filmmaker has alleged that he had been in talks with the actress for more than a year with regards to a project that he wanted to helm, a film titled Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen. According to Ketan, Kangana has hijacked the project, making him suffer losses upto Rs 9 crore.
He told the tabloid, "We shared various versions of the script and sketch materials with Kangana Ranaut. We were shocked when we came to know that she was making the film with someone else and that's why we even sent her a legal notice. We have been working on this project for 10 years now and it's a labour of love. They have hijacked our project and that is not acceptable."
The actress's lawyer has refuted all claims. Meanwhile, a senior EOW officer has said than an FIR against the actress will be lodged only after thorough investigation of the charges.
