The family of late singer Amy Winehouse is reportedly not happy with documentary video about the late singer's life saying that it is "misleading" and contains some basic untruths.

Winehouse's family said in a statement that movie did not reflect the huge effort from all concerned to help the singer at all stages, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The family continued in the statement that the film does a disservice to individuals and families suffering from the complicated affliction of addiction.

The documentary helmer Asif Kapadia said in a statement that they began work with "total objectivity" and the support of the Winehouse family.

The documentary titled 'Amy' is due to screen out of competition at the May 13-24 Cannes festival.
