Archies comics recently revealed that their main character Archie would be killed off in the No.36 edition of ‘Life with Archie’ coming out in July.
Archie Andrews made his first comic book appearance in 1941, and in July 2014, he will be killed off. The legendary character that Life with Archie is based on is being killed off. Amul which always takes up important events and pays homage has put out a comic poster that pays tribute to the legendary character.
The strip reads, "Comic stRIP" with 'rest in peace' in capitals to emphasise on current turn of events in store for the character. It also reads, 'For the growing up years' as Archie has been a popular comic character and there were television animated series on this comic premise too.
Archie Andrews was created in 1941 by Vic Bloom and Bob Montana and has been extremely; popular with readers and comic lovers. But, the comic character may make a come-back in alternate versions as comics are known to kill their characters and bring them back to boost sales.
A case of this was Marvel Universe killing of various characters including Rogue, scarlet Witch, Jean Grey and Charles Xavier to bring them back in later versions from the X-Men universe.
