Amrita Puri’s scooty woes

Amrita Puri’s role as Vidya in Kai Po Che directed by Abhishek Kapoor requires her to drive a scooty. As she did not know how to, her co-star Sushant Singh Rajput took on the mantle of a teaching her the basics of driving.

“I have always wanted to learn how to ride a bike. I was more than happy to learn how to ride a scooty. As things turned out, my scooty instructor was none other than my co-star Sushant Singh Rajput. After our acting workshops, Sushant and I would have scooty tutorials which were so much fun,” says Amrita.

But one day when she and Rajkumar Yadav, her other co-star in the film were practicing riding the scooty, they drove away too far and the scooty ran out of fuel. And they were stranded on the highway with no help or access to anyone and were on the verge of panic.

But luckily, their co-star Amit Sadh, who is a fitness freak was on his evening jog on the highway and he came to their rescue. He saw both of them and all three pushed the scooty back to their shoot location. “I had a great time prepping for my role and this incident always brings a smile on my face. Though I must confess I still don’t know how to ride a scooty too well,” confesses Amrita.
