Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan launched the autobiography of boxing icon M.C. Mary Kom here on Monday.
Bachchan acknowledged Kom's contribution by calling her an inspiration to join the sport, and said it is an honour for him to attend the launch of the autobiography.
“I am very honoured to be just standing next to M.C. Mary Kom. Just to be in her company is inspirational enough, and I want to thank the organisers today who had invited me here for the inauguration of this wonderful book, which I am sure is going to be a great inspiration to many who are in sports, and not just sports, but in life as well,” said Bachchan.
Meanwhile, Kom thanked the superstar for taking out time for the event and praised him for his best wishes during the 2012 Olympics.
“Amitabh sir was the first person to wish me during my Olympics and congratulate me. I am so happy today, he came for my book launch. I really thank him from the bottom of my heart,” said Kom.
