Mijwan Welfare Society, The NGO  founded by the late Kaifi Azmi and headed by Shabana Azmi now along with Namrata Goyal organised a ramp walk for women empowerment. The theme for the ramp walk was 'Men For Mijwan'. Amitabh Bachchan wore bandhgala chikankari achkan with white Pathani salwar. Sona Mohapatra sung the song ‘Bekhauf Azad Rehna Mujhe’ dedicating the evening to the Mijwan girls. Bollywood came together for promoting women empowerment from Amitabh Bachchan to Siddharth Malhotra.

Amitabh Bachchan said in his blog "A large number of colleagues and a large number of very beautiful ladies that walk the walk for designer Manish Malhotra..a satisfying experience and credit of immense value".

Manish Malhotra the one who set up the ramp show said, “Mijwan to me is a microcosm of what India has to offer the world. We have a long history of warp and weft of design aesthetics. It’s time to rediscover ourselves and go back to our roots. I hold this association very close to my heart. The Mijwan girls get an opportunity to support themselves and become independent, and I get to showcase to the world the best that our country has to offer.”

Shabana Azmi said, "I didn't even dare suggest to Mr. Bachchan that he was the oldest of the five generations of actors walking the ramp. Because to me his energy level equals that of the youngest actor Sidharth Malhotra of the group, who would walk the ramp."
