Amitabh Bachchan hits out at Shobhaa De over her Rio Olympic remark

Shobhaa De has always been in news for her controversial nature. The gossip columnist grabbed headlines after she made a shocking and derogatory remark on the Indian athletes representing the nation at the Rio Olympics 2016.

While India has now managed to win a medal and open their Olympic account, Shobhaa's comment came at a time when India was struggling to make its mark in the tournament. Shobhaa had tweeted,

Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity.

Not many took it in the right stride and rightly so. While many celebrities slammed Shobhaa De for her comments, Amitabh Bachchan had reserved his comments on the same.

But after Thursday's brilliant performance by PV Sindhu which has now ensured India it's first silver or gold medal, Big B took to Twitter to post some sarcastic tweets. Without naming anyone, Big B hit out at Shobhaa's cheap remarks and mocked her.

Not just that, he royally snubbed her by saying that he would love to click selfies with the Olympic athletes.
