A box office clash of India's two living legends — Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth — has been averted as the makers of the long-awaited film Kochadaiiyan has been postponed yet again.

Earlier, the film, touted to be India’s first motion capture animation film in 3D, was supposed to be released on April 11, the same day as Big B's Bhootnath Returns

However, the film's release was re-scheduled in order to finish post-production work.

The film's co-producer Murali Manohar has gone on record saying: "We are looking at a new date. Yes, we're looking at the one mentioned by you. The censoring of Kochadaiiyaan in all the various languages is not yet done."

The new release date is said to be May 1.

An epic saga, Kochadaiiyan stars Deepika Padukone opposite the South superstar.

Amitabh's Bhootnath Returns is the sequel to his 2008 film Bhootnath.

The sequel is set against the backdrop of the Lok Sabha elections where the  ghost fights the polls against a corrupt leader.

Interestingly, Amitabh launched the Hindi trailer of Kochadaiiyan in Mumbai on Sunday and hoped that it will usher a new era in Indian cinema.
