Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover wanted to hit a jackpot with their recently released Alone. But even if they could not hit a jackpot, the film has remained steady at the box office. Although the film was expected to open around Rs 5 crore on its first day, Alone brought in around Rs 4.50 crore, which was less than expected but not disappointing.

Given that the film has been made on a lower budget, the recovery of investment will become easier. Plus, the horror flick maintained its momentum and brought in another Rs 4.50 crore on its second day, taking the two day total to Rs 9 crore. Although the numbers might seem a tad little low, if the film performs consistently throughout the weekdays, it has a greater chance of incurring huger profits.

But the disappointing part is that the film did not have any growth on its Saturday, which usually was expected to bring in at least 15-20% growth on its second day. Hopefully, the film will see around a 30% growth on its first Sunday and the first week collections will be around Rs 15 crore. But for the film to trod into the hit league, much more numbers had to come in through the first weekend itself.

Giving stiff competition to Alone is Vikram's I and last week's release- Sonakshi Sinha-Arjun Kapoor starrer Tevar. All that needs to be seen now is how much investment Alone covers in the first week itself.
