Rohit Shetty is a friend indeed. His writers Sajid-Farhad (Golmaal series, Singham and Bol Bachchan) are turning director with film Entertainment. On Monday — the first day of shooting, Rohit, who is superbusy cutting the trailer for Chennai Express, made time and drove all the way to Chandivili to the sets to wish the director brothers.

He did not hesitate even though the film stars Akshay Kumar. Everyone knows that Rohit’s film Chennai Express and AK’s film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again will be fighting it out at the box-office this year on Eid but that did not stop the director from coming on the set. Rohit dropped in around six pm and stayed on for some time. He even wished Akshay and producer Ramesh Taurani.

Says Sajid, “Farhad and I have always worked with Rohit (Shetty) in so many films — right from the Golmaal series to Singham and Bol Bachchan. It’s a relationship of many years. More than a director and writer association, he is like a brother and part of the family. We had also attended his sister’s wedding last year. Hum log ne kaafi kuch seekha hai Rohitbhai se. He’s one of the topmost directors today. Now that we have plunged into direction he’s very happy and proud of us. He came for our mahurat, spent some time, gave his blessings and left.”

The shooting was just held for one day as it was an auspicious day to begin. The film will begin shooting in full swing in Bangkok from next month.
