Akshay Kumar's 'Airlift' flies into Rs 100 crore club

Entering the 100 crore INR club, Airlift,  starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur, has become the first movie of 2016 to have a collection over Rs 100 crore.

Film critic Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "#Airlift has a FANTASTIC Sunday. Crosses 100 cr mark. [Week 2] Fri 4.50 cr, Sat 6.50 cr, Sun 8.26 cr. Total: 102.76 cr. India biz."

Directed by Raja Menon, Airlift also stars Nimrat Kaur in lead role.

The film captures the story of the Indians stuck in Kuwait during Iraq?s invasion in 1990, through the eyes of Ranjit Katiyal, played by Akshay and a few other characters.
