Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Returns' edges past Akshay Kumar's 'Rowdy Rathore', becomes tenth highest grosser

'Singham Returns' has become Ajay Devgn's biggest bet till now, with the film raking in huge moolah at the box office. The film which brought in over Rs 112 crore in the first weekend had a huge drop in the second week, with collections dropping at nearly 80%.

The film collected merely Rs 23 crore nett in its second week, taking its total to a whopping Rs 135 crore at the box office. And with that, the Rohit Shetty directorial has edged past Akshay Kumar's 'Rowdy Rathore'.

'Singham Returns' has also become the tenth highest Bollywood grosser of all times and is eyeing Dabangg's Rs 141 crore mark target. But the pace has relatively slowed down in the third week, with footfalls decreasing to a huge extent. Hence it needs to be seen how many days 'Singham Returns' take to become the ninth highest grosser, displacing Salman Khan's 'Dabangg' from the position.
