Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha's 'Action Jackson' has a low opening of Rs 9.25 crore at box office

Normally, Ajay Devgn films bring in good numbers at the box office. So does Prabhu Dheva's action entertainers. And while Action Jackson had both the things working for its favour, a wafer thin plot and a weaker screenplay did not allow the film to capitalise on its major pluses.

The film had a low opening of Rs 9.25 crore on its first day at the box office. Technically, the number is good but given that it is an Ajay Devgn-Sonakshi Sinha entertainer, stakes were already high. While critics have panned the film and criticised Ajay for making such a bad choice, it seems the audiences too did not give the film much of a chance.

With Singham Returns bringing in around Rs 30 crore, a figure which is even less than Rs 10 crore wasn't what one would have anticipated from the Ajay Devgn starrer. Nevertheless, it only needs to be seen how the film fares during the weekend. 

If the film fails to pick up in the weekend, it might just end up being another disaster in Ajay's career much like a Himmatwala.
