After 'Aashiqui 2', it's 'Jaan Tere Naam 2'

The success of Aashiqui (1990) remake has inspired producer-director Deepak Balraj Vij a lot. Deepak, to remake his musical hit 1992 hit Jaan Tere Naam. The film marked the debut of Ronit Roy and Farheen, and teh remake too will have newcomers. The music for Jaan Tere Naam 2 will be scored by Anu Malik, while Javed Akhtar will write the lyrics. Longinus Fernandes will choreograph the songs. Deepak reveals,  “The music of JTN was a big hit and Ronit Roy and Farheen became known through the film.

Similarly, I would like to work with newcomers for JTN2. I intend to hold a nationwide talent hunt to find the lead pair. Dancing skills are a must for the lead pair as there are many dance sequences in the film. It’s been 21 years since Jaan Tere Naam released and I have been toying with the idea of directing it all over again with an entirely fresh setting, concept and star cast. The story idea is ready and if all things fall into place we should finalise the lead pair by August end and start shooting in September or October.”
