... and we're already high on 'Afeemi'!
The makers of Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu have given us the ultimate track to get high on love in the guise of Afeemi.
The song begins by Bindu professing her love for Abhimanyu (in Bangla) and it's Abhi's reflex action (breaking into an impromptu dance) that get's you hooked to watch the video further. The lilting melody of love takes over from this point and by the time the song ends, we're addicted to it already.
The song explains the inception of their love for each other and how it grows through every small but significant gesture. We get insights into how Abhi is the pillar of strength and support for Bindu to lean back on, through every thick and thin.
Abhimanyu is seriously giving us all some major relationship goals in the track! He's constantly there with Bindu as a playful distracter during her rehearsals, when she has an audition to crack, during her shoots and when finally her music album comes out in stores, he plans the celebrations for her.
Even though he just can't bear being separated from her, he takes a step back and lets her go ahead to achieve her dreams. They're high on love and addicted to each other. Their bond completes and defines them and makes you long for a relationship like theirs. Parineeti Chopra is at her best and looks effortless in her character but it's Ayushmann Khurrana who has our hearts in this song!
Afeemi has been penned by Kausar Munir, who's becoming one of my favourite lyricists in recent times. Kudos to Sachin-Jigar for such a tranquillizing (the right kind), soft-romantic number. The soothing yet impactful vocals of Jigar Saraiya and Sanah Moidutty deserve immense applauds because their mellifluous voice does the ultimate trick and leaves you enchanted!
