Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Ranbir, Aish, Anushka, Fawad, SRK - Who plays what in the film?

The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil teaser featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan is finally out. The teaser has received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. The teaser has already become one of the biggest Internet sensations for today but hardly gives out the film's premise or the character introductions. 

That will come much later, in the longer theatrical promo or the trailer that will be launched at least a month from here onwards. But what we hear is that the screenplay is loosely adapted from a yesteryear Bollywood film Doosra Aadmi. The older film starred Raakhee, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. The team has reportedly rubbished rumours of ADHM being inspired from Doosra Aadmi.

So here's the lowdown. What do each one play in the film? 

Ranbir is the leading man who falls for a happy, vibrant and chirpy Anushka and the two are in a committed relationship. Aishwarya on the other hand is married to Shah Rukh Khan who plays her husband in the film. SRK dies in this film. It's then he gets enticed by Aishwarya's character and he cheats on Anushka for Aish. 

Obviously, Aish plays an older woman who Ranbir falls for. Their chemistry in the teaser is sizzling to say the least. Amid all this, where does Fawad Khan fall in place? He is Anushka's boyfriend, reportedly a DJ. Now, we don't know if Anushka and Fawad get together after Ranbir cheats on her or before that. Imran Abbas will be playing Anushka's brother in the film. 

A complex love story, the film will clash with Ajay Devgn's Shivaay this Diwali.
