The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil teaser has finally been unveiled. And I've watched it at least 20 times already. Unarguably, the 90 second teaser spells magic on screen. From love to heartbreak, from passionate embraces to deceit, the ADHM teaser has all the ingredients that every quintessential Bollywood romantic saga can boast of. Plus, it's a Karan Johar film, that makes all the difference.
Here are 5 things from the teaser that we can't stop raving about!
KJo unplugged!
First things first. Here's a Karan Johar fan for life. Being a 90s kid, Karan's films have defined my childhood. From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Kal Ho Naa Ho and more, I've grown up watching his films. And the magic, the beauty, the brilliance still remains intact. KJo has a very different and unique language to love and when you put a complex love story in Karan's lap, you know he's going to hit it straight out of the ballpark. We have high hopes pinned on ADHM too!
Ranbir, Ranbir, Ranbir!!!
Where were you, Ranbir Kapoor? The trailer starts off on a high with Ranbir's intense eyes doing all the talking. Throughout the teaser, it's Ranbir who nails it with his towering screen presence. It's the Ranbir we all wanted to see and have waited to watch on screen for sometime. With Ae Dil, our Ranbir is back and back with a bang! Special mention: The only dialogue that comes right at the end of the teaser - wow!
The title track
Arijit Singh needs no special mention. While many superstars (read SRK!) had been raving about the ADHM riff, it's finally out and it's a stunner. Pritam has definitely created something which might as well turn out to be the love anthem of the year so far. The Ae Dil title track is heartbreaking and emotional, much in the space Arijit masters in.
Aishwarya, you beauty!
9 out of 10 people who have watched the teaser will agree if I say that ADHM should have actually been Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's comeback film. She looks gorgeous in every frame. From the first shot on the street to her adaab, it's her little nuances that do the trick. Plus, her sensual chemistry with Ranbir is certainly going to be the talk of the town.
Anushka and Fawad
Karan has carefully given out a short sneak peek to his film. One sided love, deep friendship and betrayal - the essentials to ADHM are clear from the brilliantly cut teaser promo. Anushka is more in the happy, vibrant zone which she always nails while Fawad as the intense, brooding lover gets noticed even in the two shots he has in the teaser.
Now, here's requesting Karan to quickly unveil the theatrical promo for ADHM because this has definitely set the ball rolling for the film. This Diwali, let there be love!
