The news of actress-VJ Sophiya Haque’s death stunned the entertainment world on Thursday.

Popular in the 90s, VJ, Sophiya Haque, rose to fame in India with Channel V's show Sophiya’s Choice. She passed away early morning on January 16. Reports say that Sophiya had been battling cancer for a long time and was admitted to a hospital in London where she died in her sleep.

Sophiya acted in films like Snip, Bombay Dreams and The Far Pavilions. The actress-VJ also did BBC’s Fairy Tales series with Denise Van Outen. She was last seen in a British-Bollywood musical called Wah Wah Girls in 2012.
