Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal has said that he would be keen to direct in the future - but only when he feels "presumptuous enough".

The 33-year-old actor said that he has not yet found the right project to bring him behind the camera, according to Variety. "I'm searching, but I have yet to feel presumptuous enough," Gyllenhaal said.

The Brokeback Mountain actor added that he would be interested in starring in a cable show. "Story is king. Whatever format you're telling your story in, as long as it's a great story."

Gyllenhaal can be next seen in Nightcrawler as a man who becomes involved in the world of LA crime journalism.
