Abhishek Bachchan, Magic Johnson- Mutual fan club

If there is anything actor Abhishek Bachchan loves as much, if not more than films, it is sports, be it cricket, football or basketball. A source close to the actor says that he loves to watch a good game live and during a recent trip to Los Angeles, he even visited the NBA games there. In fact he’s quite a die-hard fan of retired American basketball player Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson Jr.

A couple of days back Jr Bachchan decided to show his love for the sportsman by showering him with praises on micro-blogging site Twitter. To Abhishek’s surprise (and ours) Magic, as he is popularly known by his fans, replied to the actor’s post in particular with, “Thank you for your shout out. I am a big fan of yours as well!”

Says a source, “To say that Abhishek was taken aback is an understatement. He was on cloud nine all day long. Remind him of that post and it brings a big smile to his face even today. He may be a celebrity himself, but Abhishek is like any regular fan when it comes to sportspersons. He breathes sports – he may conceal his reactions when it comes to films but he wears his emotion on his sleeve when it comes to his sport idols.”

A humble Jr B reverted to this praise with, “Thank you so much sir. Will wait to recover from the fact that you’ve seen my work first!” As the source points out, “That was typically Abhishek… He always takes praise with a pinch of salt and this was no different.”
