‘Cut’ and ‘Re-take’ are probably two words you hear a lot on the sets of a movie. But switch to an awards show and you have a LIVE audience … and there’s little or no room for error. So go backstage at any awards show and you will usually find a mad, mad world of last minute changes, Nth hour panic, wardrobe malfunctions, star tantrums, teleprompters going kaput, song lists getting jumbled, presenters unable to make it to the show, sequence of awards being scrambled to suit egos and the works …! And it takes nothing short of a hero to tide over these million hiccups and still put on a stellar show … !
So this year, when it was time for Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh to reunite as the wild and wacky hosts of Zee Cine Awards, the creative duo came up with the idea of raising a toast to the choreographers, dancers, costume designers, set designers, make-up artistes, lightmen, technicians, basically everyone from the crew that spends endless sleepless nights to ensure that the ‘SHOW MUST GO ON!”
Abhishek and Riteish’s reunion comes a year after they regaled audiences with their tongue-in-cheek jokes and light-hearted camaraderie as hosts of Zee Cine Awards last year. This time, beyond the on-stage tom-foolery, Abhishek and Riteish have shot an extensive segment backstage paying a comical tribute to these unsung heroes. This reel of backstage bloopers is a comedy of errors bound to leave the audience in splits. The reunion of the two ‘Bluffmasters’ is being touted as the next big sequel after Krissh-3 and Dhoom 3!
