Aamir and Suketu Desai, the grandson of Chimanlal Desai go back a long way. Aamir shared that he and his friends would scurry away as soon as Desai would come out in the balcony to scold them for breaking windows.

Aamir Khan and his friends turned up in full force for the launch of a book on Sagar Movietone, one of India’s oldest film companies started by Ardeshir Irani in the 30s, and Chimanlal Desai and Dr Ambalal Patel later joined as partners. Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ravindra Jain, Prasoon Joshi, Aarti and Kailash Surendranath and film music historian Nalin Shah were among those present.
