Aamir Khan, the perfectionist of Bollywood, who made a place for himself in the heart of every citizen after his first television show Satyamev Jayate, is facing huge criticism over the first poster of his new film PK since it was released a day ago.
A Kanpur based lawyer has now moved court against Khan saying that the poster is "obscene" and would incite "sexual violence" and encourage "obscenity".
But Aamir Khan is neither the first nor the only actor in Bollywood to have posed this way. Here is a look at other actors who have posed in nude or semi nude.
Niel Nitin Mukesh
Film: Jail (2009)
In the Jail move of director Madhur Bhandharkar that released in 2009, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh gave a full frontal nude shot. The scene showcases the gruesome torture Neil's character goes through in prison. The movie didn’t manage to get Neil the amount of success probably he had probably hoped for, but it added him to the list of actors who do what the script demands.
John Abraham
Film: New York (2009) and Dostana (2008)
John Abraham in a particular scene in the film New York, directed by Kabir Khan, had a full frontal nude scene (though in dark). He also showed quite a part of his well-toned derriere in a song sequence in Dostana (2008). But as such there were no controversy over the scene in New York.
Rajkumar Rao
Film: Shahid (2013)
Kai Po Che fame Rajkumar Rao was shown in a nude position in a movie Shahid directed by Hansal Mehta in October, 2013. In the movie Rajkumar traces the story of a slain human rights activist and lawyer Shahid Azmi, inspiring personal journey of a boy while following the rise of communal violence in India.
Shah Rukh Khan
Film: Maya Memsaab (1993)
More than a decade ago, when Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan was was struggling to make it big in Bollywood, he had a nude scene with Deepa Sahi, in the film Maya Memsaab, directed by Ketan Mehta. The movie is still remembered for the controversial nude scene. The Censor Board canned several scenes deemed obscene this film.
Ranbir Kapoor
Film: Saawariya (2007)
In his first debut film Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actor Ranbir Kapoor exposed his butt to the camera. In the scene he is seen dancing in a towel. He goes on to untie the towel and stand directly in front of the camera, exposing his bare butt. The astounded everyone as it was very risky move that may not have worked in favor of the newcomer.
Not only Indian male actors but also many Hollywood actors had given such nude poses in their movies. In the movie fight club actor Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in The Aviator had given such pose.
