Manish Paul, who turns a year older today is having a double celebration. Not only is he bringing in his 34th birthday, he is also shifting into his new house at Raheja Classic. He is throwing a housewarming cum birthday party. And Manish has a lot to celebrate about. He has finished the shooting for Katha remake and is awaiting the release of Tere Bin Laden 2 on October 30 this year. Currently, he is hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded. Do you think turning a year older mean you'll be wiser?
Definitely. With time you learn more, but I don't think in terms of numbers. For me it's just another year gone by and a new year starting.
What gift do you want from Karan Johar?
I want one film, baaki main dekh longa (laughs).
Have you ever discussed it with him?
We don't discuss it because it will make it awkward. We are fond of each other and our friendship goes beyond films. Karan has a very good sense of humour, meri itni masti mein he has a huge contribution. A big thanks to him.
One place you would never want to bring your birthday?
A place where I don't have my family and friends. I love to celebrate my birthday with people who give good vibes. That gives me more energy.
One place you want to bring your birthday?
Next time, I want to celebrate at the Times Square, standing in the centre and cutting a cake, with all my friends there.
What would you do if you wake up on your birthday and realise that you have lost all your hair?
I will have to call Anupam Kher and tell him baal toh chale gaye, now I want to learn acting from you so that I can do well as an actor!
What would be the three worst gifts to give you?
Clothes, film DVDs and Dumbbells. I already have a lot of clothes so that will only get duplicated. I always work out at the gym so it's no use giving me Dumbbells. As for films, I already have most of the films, so there's not point giving me DVDs.
What are the three best gifts to give you?
Gizmos. I am gizmo freak I will be very happy if you give me anything. I am also fond of suitcases because I travel a lot. I have suitcases in different sizes and colours. Still, I would welcome one more. Wrist watches are another favourite. I already have over 20 watches. You'll see me wearing a different watch in every episode of Jhalak.. as I try and match it with my clothes.
On your birthday what if Madhuri Dixit turned up at your house?
I will go mad. It'll be a dream-come-true, the biggest gift for me! Now that you have asked me this, I will be expecting her.
You must be missing her on the show...
Yes. I have a different relationship with her. If you've noticed I haven't gone to the judges table at all this season! I am still enamoured by the way she smiles and talks.
