Tanu Weds Manu:
Kangana might have faced a lot of problems dealing with the hooliganism in Lucknow, but the way her director brought out the beauty of Lucknow in his frames was immensely praiseworthy. The Director of Photography did his work with flourish and the film went on to do wonders to Kangana's almost sinking career back then!
Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl:
The film was all about style, glamour and slick maneuvers. But that small portion of Ranveer Singh and her brief camaraderie with Aditi Sharma in Lucknow brought immense weight to the film. From the beautiful embroidery to the kaale jamuns, the Lucknow leg had ethnicity thrown in bits and pieces.
Bullett Raja:
The film might have been a bland encounter but Tigmanshu Dhulia's cinematic brilliance took shape when he went all out bringing the picturesque locales of Lucknow with conviction. And when most actors get charmed by the city, Lucknow got charmed when Nawab Saif Ali Khan visited the city for his Bullett Raja shooting schedule.
Youngistaan:
A beautiful ballad shot in the beautiful locations in Lucknow. That, along with Late Farooq Sheikh saab's smoldering screen presence, were sadly the only good things about this entire Jackky Bhagnani starrer.
Shootout at Wadala:
After Yash Raj made their foray into rediscovering the City of Nawabs, it was Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Films which trod on the same path. She made Lucknow the backdrop to portray the '80s era with aplomb. The old world charm that the city still imbibes within definitely worked well for the television czarina.
Dawaat-e-Ishq:
A lip smacking film that deals with food and love- two special delicacies that you associate Lucknow with, Habib Faisal's Dawaat-e-Ishq aims to capture the city and its aura at its best! Lucknow which almost seems like another character in the film from the trailer, stands out along with the mouth watering love story that the film boasts of! Aditya Roy Kapur fell in love with the city. So much that he even learnt spinning and tossing rumali rotis.
