Forget the blatant comparisons with the original and for once, keep Rekha out of your mind when you watch the modernized Disney creation. Trust me, once you do that, Khoobsurat will be a much more enjoyable ride for you. Honestly, there is not much content that the film can boast of, one that was the strongest point in the Hrishikesh Mukherjee film. But the film fits in to a very happy space altogether.

Here are 5 reasons why Khoobsurat is a good one time watch.

It's a candy floss chick flick:

If you are a chick flick fan and you have simply loved watching reruns of Aisha, Luv Ka The End and Gippi each time you felt sad, Khoobsurat will just add on to that list. Full on candy floss, Khoobsurat is that one film you would love watching with a tub of popcorn and your favourite flavoured ice creams!

You come out with a smile:

Trust me, if you are sad, depressed and feeling really low, Khoobsurat is the perfect anti depressant for you. Forget good content, the innate vibe and feel of the film will make you happy. From the bubbly motor-mouth heroine to the splash of colour everywhere, you definitely come out with a wide smile once you are out of the theatres!

It's a Disney film after all:

No matter what our ages are, we have all loved Disney films. From Cinderella to Princess Diaries and Frozen, we have simply adored all Disney films. Khoobsurat fits the Disney bill perfectly. And when it come to packaging, Disney knows what it is doing. Khoobsurat is one of those sugar coated candies wrapped in the most delectable wrappers of all. From the clothes to the canvas to the grandiose, Khoobsurat is a Disney delicacy to the tee.

The lead pair looks spectacular:

Sonam Kapoor isn't quite a heavyweight when it comes to acting but when it comes to looking good and fashionable, she is miles ahed of all her contemporaries. Sonam Kapoor as the clumsy Mili brings in the glamour while Fawad and his eyes speak volumes. From the pyjamas to the smiley socks and the quirky Rajasthani Jodhpuris, Sonam aces it all. But it's the cheat kiss and the sugary sweet romance brewing between the two that keep us entertained. Also, Fawad Khan in that catch-and-miss shirtless scene leaves us wanting for more!

The perfect ensemble:

Yet again, we remind you. Do not compare Khoobsoorat with Khoobsurat. Although the modern version has borrowed the main backdrop from the original, the film is made on an altogether different plateau. Plus, Ratna Pathak Shah as Rani-sa marvels with her spectacular staunch disciplinarian act and fills us with some Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai nostalgia. Kirron Kher reprises her usual Punjabi loud mother avatar and like always, her inane small talks keep the tempo of the film steady.
