Dinesh Vijan's directorial debut, Raabta, saw its trailer released today. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer is a tale of reincarnated lovers who meet in the present time and are confronted by the fact that they were lovers in a past life when a new man, played by Jim Sarbh, comes into the play to claim his girl. Here are the 3 things we enjoyed about the trailer:

1. The music: The soundtrack of Raabta has been composed by Pritam, marking his fourth outing, after Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod and Cocktail. The soundtrack does rehash the song Raabta, from Vijan's earlier production, 2012's Agent Vinod, and gives it a beautiful turn, thereby making it a lot softer and a little more haunting. The music used in the latter half of the trailer is also perfect for building the tension without succumbing to the usual trope of building up to a climactic end before the title is released....that is saved for the end of the trailer, after the movie's name is shown.

2. The production values: The movie looks like it's been made with great care, at the cost of a great amount of expenditure. From shots with subway smooches and flowing ball gowns, to men jumping out of waterfalls and grand tribal wars, Raabta looks like an expensive affair that might just give us a grand visual treat at theatres this June.

3. Kriti and Sushant's chemistry: Kriti Sanon and Sushant Singh Rajput have been enduring constant rumours and reports of the 'are they-aren't they' kind. The media has been constantly striving to discover whether the two are in a relationship or not. We wouldn't be so surprised if it turned out they were dating, considering the chemistry between the two in the trailer is sizzling. Most times, just attractive people together on screen don't make things work, but that's kind of what is going well for them. With Sushant's adorable mannerisms and Kriti's multiple nervous bursts of laughter, the two may be one of the cuter B-Town couples of recent times.

An honourable mention goes out to that horrible joke Sushant made about his being cheesy and chocolat-y, which is all the bad joke quotient we needed to make our day so much better!

While the trailer had its strong points, here are a couple of things we weren't exactly fond of in the trailer:

1. The storyline: Sure, the plot of the movie is what drives it forward. But when your plot has been done to death plenty of times, sometimes even by the same man in charge (Vijan's Love Aaj Kal was similar) and the trailer does nothing to help make it more palatable or fresh, you can't help but pick at straws here. While it might look well done aesthetically, it doesn't save from the fact that the trailer is very confusing. Like the relationship status of the actors involved, all we'll say about the plot of the trailer is 'it's complicated'.

2. Kriti Sanon's acting: While Kriti Sanon is a great actor in her own right, we can't say that here. Sanon appears wooden at certain points and at other moments, in an effort to seemingly compensate, she goes over the top. We have never seen someone look so confused at being twisted and turned while dancing. And after seeing Kriti Sanon wail, that's all you can think of. You cannot get it out of your head. And not in the good way.
