Taapsee Pannu is nervous about three of her films being released in the next  five weeks, two of them on the same Friday.

‘These things happen’

Says Taapsee, “I never planned the three films Runningshaadi.com, The Ghazi Attack and Naam Shabana to come out one after the other. As an actor, you have no control over when your films will release. These things just happen. And I am not complaining. How many actresses get to be in three such different films playing such different characters?”

Naam Shabana, which arrives on March 31, is unique in concept. “After Baby, I got several offers to do action films. I guess it was destiny that I had to wait  for a whole film to be made on the character I played in Baby. After Pink, I needed to do something that would be equally substantial and yet different. Naam Shabana was it.”

‘Did it on my own’

She gets ruminative about her career. “In my life, no matter what I’ve done, I didn’t have to struggle much. I got a big break in Chashme Buddoor. I wasn’t a great actor with natural-born talent. I didn’t even stay in Mumbai. I came to the city only when there was work. So, I didn’t really qualify for stardom. I had no production house to support me. No sugar daddy and no protective mummy either. I did it on my own. I guess I got lucky. Allow me to feel some pride.”
