A 24-year-old student has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui alleging that the actor pushed her during an argument, thereby outraging her modesty, following a parking row. The police would soon record Siddiqui's statement.

According to the police, victim is a resident of Zohra Aghadi Nagar (J&K) Cooperative Housing Society at Yari Road in Versova. Victim's grandmother is the chairman of the said housing society where Siddiqui stays with his family.

As per the FIR, a copy of which is with dna, the victim in her statement mentioned that society members have disputes over the parking issue, due to which the chairman and secretary of the building had issued notices to the members on Saturday. Since Siddiqui uses more parking space in the building, he too was given a notice but he did not accept it, the complaint stated.

"On Sunday around 1.15 pm, when the victim was sitting with her grandmother in the society office she spotted private bouncers of Siddiqui arguing with a member over parking of a motorcycle. She then started taking photographs of the incident on her mobile phone. Meanwhile, Siddiqui came to the spot and started arguing with her. He then pushed her and told her not to take any photographs. At that time, Siddiqui's brother Shamshuddin and their bouncers were also present," said an officer from Versova police station.

He added, the victim then called on the police control room after which a police vehicle rushed to the spot. She then got a complaint lodged against Siddiqui.

The police have registered a complaint under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code against Siddiqui for assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.

"We are verifying the claims made by the victim in the FIR and would also take Siddiqui's statement," said assistant commissioner of police, DN Nagar division, Arun Chavan.
