2 States first poster out: Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor will surprise you

Newbie Alia Bhatt is on a roll. While she is basking in the success of her latest film Highway, the first poster of her upcoming film 2 States has come out and looks pretty impressive.

The film, based on Chetan Bhagat's novel of the same name, will see Alia paired opposite Arjun Kapoor.

A look at the poster and you cannot help but be surprised with the way the awesome twosome look.

Arjun, who impressed us with his acting skills as a rough-around-the-edges brat in Ishaqzaade, will be seen as a well-educated young guy from North India named Krish Malhotra.

On the other hand, Alia, who was seen as a docile girl who breaks free in Highway, will be seen playing a sweet, intelligent South Indian girl Ananya Sawminathan. 

The film is a love story in which two IIM graduates fall for each other, but trouble comes when they decide to tie the knot, as the they start realising the implications of their cultural differences. 

The first poster captures the theme as the two lovers are shown reaching out to each other from their respective regions. The tagline 'One love' below the film's title sums it up aptly.

Whether you have read the novel or not, the poster is bound to stir your interest in the film. 

Directed by Abhishek Yarnan, 2 States will hit the screens on April 18.
