In a first, India carried out surgical strikes on seven terror launch pads across the LoC with the Army inflicting "significant casualties" on terrorists preparing to infiltrate from PoK, days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned Uri attack would not go unpunished. Seven terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) were targeted by the Army on the intervening night of September 28 and 29 in a nearly five-hour-long operation during which heliborne and ground forces were deployed, Defence sources said on Monday.
The surgical strike, seen as a response to the Uri attack, was hailed by many people across the nation including politicians from across the spectrum, sportsmen and regular people. For too long, a lot of Indians have felt that we’ve allowed Pakistanis to foment terror in their backyard and continue to bleed us. The surgical strike is a clear indication that India is not a sitting duck and will not silently watch terrorists come in and kill our braves. It is a theme we’ve seen in many Bollywood movies, so we thought we’d compile the best dialogues that sum up the national mood.
