7. What was the name of the first all-original album of The Rolling Stones?
The Rolling Stones (1964)
Aftermath (1966)
Exile on Main St (1972)
Aftermath was the first album to be composed entirely of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards’s songs. ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Lady Jane’, ‘Under My Thumb’ and the almost 12-minute long ‘Goin' Home’ were some of the songs in the album. Aftermath did not do too well, partly because of the simultaneous release of the Beatles' Revolver and Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde. So the 1964 album, The Rolling Stones, is actually considered the band’s first album. It was issued in the US as England's Newest Hit Makers and mostly consisted of covers, with only one Mick Jagger/Keith Richards original ‘Tell Me (You're Coming Back)’ and and two numbers credited to Nanker Phelge, the pen name for songs written by the entire group.
