Born Vijay Joseph Chandrashekhar, actor Vijay got married to London-based Sangeetha on August 25, 1999. Their first child, Sanjay, was born in 2000 and their daughter, Divya, in 2005. He affectionately calls his wife Geeta.

Vijay and his wife Sangeetha always attend events together and she has been strong pillar of support for him. They were recently seen at the Puli audio launch.
Sangeetha's birthday is on April 14 and he makes it a point to wish her personally and through the media especially when he's not in the country.

The actor is not just a caring husband but also a loving father. He shares a very strong bond with his son Sanjay. Sanjay loves cricket and Vijay makes it a point to take him to matches whenever he can. In fact, he also picks up his kids from school on days that he is not shooting!
