Biggest awards show to honour the talent on the small screen cheered on some of the best people in the business at the Emmys night in Los Angeles on Sunday (Monday morning for us in the Eastern hemisphere).

The biggest awards show to honour the talent on the small screen cheered on some of the best people in the business at the Emmys in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Monday morning for us in the Eastern hemisphere). 

The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Game of Thrones and Veep emerged as the big winners.

It was an FX vs HBO battle for the most wins which the latter won, with Amazon and Netflix making their presence felt.

Here are all the winners of the glamorous night.

1. Louie Anderson

The duo behind Netflix's Master of None took home the Emmy for Best Writing for a Comedy Series. Alan Yang requested Asian-American parents to give their children a camera instead of a violin so that the community will have better representation in the industry. Ansari, on the other hand, said nothing. He made up for it later in the show. (AFP)

Jill Soloway won the trophy for Best Director for a Comedy Series for the second time in a row for Amazon's Transparent. Her mantra for everyone in the audience— TOPPLE THE PATRIARCHY! (AFP)

Emmy royalty took stage for the eighth time. She picked up the trophy for lead actress in a comedy for the fifth time in a row. She picked up the trophy for playing Selina Meyer in the HBO series. In her incredible speech, she said, "Veep has torn down the wall between comedy and politics. It started as a political satire but it now turned out to be a documentary, so she is going to rebuild that wall and make Mexico pay for it." (AFP)
