A compilation of some of the moments from the 63rd National Film Awards.
The 63rd National Film Awards witnessed some of the groundbreaking selections, with three films addressing the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning (LGBTQ) issues. The films were, Breaking Free, Daaravatha and Margarita With A Straw.
Child actor Gaurav Menon won the Best Child Actor for his role in the Malayalam film Ben. He plays the pivotal role of a boy undergoing emotional turmoil.
Kalki Koechlin played the exceptional role of Laila, a young woman with cerebral palsy, in a relationship with another woman, in the film Margarita with a Straw, for which she was awarded the Special Jury/Special Mention Award.
Some of the other notable mentions are, Kangana Ranaut and Amitabh Bachchan for Best actor and actress for the films Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, SS Rajamouli for the film Baahubali, Masaan for the Best First Film by a Director, among many others.
Manoj Kumar was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in Indian cinema, for his immense contribution to the Indian film industry over the years.
