The Brit passed away on Thursday at the age of 69 after battling cancer. Leaving us to do movie marathons and 'Rickman-Offs' in his memory.

If Bruce Willis' 'Yipee-Kay-Yay-MOFO is famous and has an impact on us, it's because of Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber. Before Gruber, there weren't any suave villains with an insinuating voice. He paved the way for Brit bad boys. Now we have a crop of them like Gary Oldman in 'Air Force One', Tom Hardy in 'The Dark Knight Rises', Tom Hiddleston in 'The Avengers', and Benedict Cumberbatch in 'Star Trek: Into Darkness'
3. Sense and Sensibility

We cannot imagine anyone else other than Alan Rickman to play the older, wiser Colonel Brandon to woo and win Kate Winslet's Marianne in the screen adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility'. Written by Emma Thompson, the movie launched Winslet, and for Rickman, it marked the start of his collaborations and later friendship, with Emma Thompson.
4. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Alan played Antoine Richis in this film. A wealthy man whose daughter has the perfect scent that Ben Whishaw's Jean‑Baptiste Grenouille needs. Richis fights until the end to prove that Grenouille is guilty, but the 'Perfume' makes him adopt the murderer and declare him as his son.
5. The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Alan Rickman gave voice to a manic depressive robot, who is a funny concept by Douglas Adam. But with Alan Rickman's touch and variation in the tones, it makes one of the funniest characters in the movie.
6. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Let's face it, despite the stellar cast, the movie was a dud, save for Alan Rickman. He is the one who saves the movie. Alan's Sheriff of Nottingham is simply entertaining. The threat to call off Christmas feels real even today!
7. Truly Madly Deeply

Rickman played a ghost who keeps appearing in front of his girlfriend in 'Truly Madly Deeply'. The best part of the performance is that this ghost, until the end, keeps us guessing if he is really there or whether only Nina (his girlfriend played by Juliet Stevenson) sees him.
The tender performance by Rickman is actually better than his other performances put together.
