Nucleya co-founded the Bandish Projekt in the late ‘90s and is well-known for his bass-heavy music today. In fact, this renowned Indian artist opened for David Guetta during the Eristoff Invasion Festival 2012. In June this year, Nucleya will be a part of IIFA Stomp at Madrid where he will perform with other Indian bands and DJs like Raghu Dixit Project, B.R.E.E.D and Midival Punditz. Here he talks about the IIFA Stomp, his music and more...

How excited are you to be a part of IIFA Stomp in collaboration with MULAFEST in Madrid this year?
I'm super excited for this! IIFA Stomp with Mulafest is going to be a great event to be a part of and I look forward to meet some of my fans from Spain. It is a great way to not only visit a new city but also meeting people who love my music from the world is always humbling and fun.

What should the fans expect from Nucleya at IIFA Stomp?
Fans at IIFA Stomp can expect a high energy set and they should be ready to dance like crazy to some desi bass music! Each gig has a unique experience and a feel to it and the fans themselves add to the energy which is always fun.

Tell us about your journey in the electronic music world.
Well, it's been a very long and interesting journey for me. I started off producing electronic music almost 20 years ago, with my band Bandish Projekt, and we toured all around the world. I started my solo project - Nucleya, in 2008 and things have just gone to the next level ever since then and I've never thought of looking back.

Define your style.
My music has a lot of different influences such as Indian street music, south Indian music, Punjabi music, all mixed and mashed up with heavy bass music. I constantly love to experiment with new music.

What is the inspiration behind your music?
I was influenced by a varied bunch of artists in my teenage years, from Intelligent Dance Music Producers like Funkstorung to pioneers of Indian film music such as Mohammad Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar.

Any advice for upcoming musicians?
I will advise every creative professional to only focus on what they want to achieve. The way to achieve your goals might change along the way, but don’t let anything change your goal.
