Let music do the talking: Axel Hedfors

Swedish DJ/Producer Axel Hedfors (better known as Axwell) was in Mumbai recently, a stop-over before heading over to New Delhi for a free concert. We caught up with him for a short chat...

Don’t you think free gigs kinda dilute the audience one looks for?

I don’t think that. When I had the opportunity to do a show for this brand, celebrating the launch of their new car, I thought it’d be fun to do a free show for everyone to attend.

Who are you most excited about meeting?

Everyone! I’m normally only here for a few hours at a time….I perform my music at the gig and then, I have to leave. This time, I have time to interact, absorb everything around me, talk to interesting people and vibe out!

You’ve become a regular visitor by now. What keeps bringing you back?

Fans and the energy from the shows. Mumbai is a hectic place and this translates perfectly to an amazing atmosphere at the shows.

The one reason you’ve continued collaborating with Sebastian Ingrosso is...?

I think we understand each other and bring something different to the music we make. Sebastian is an amazing producer.

DJs are getting into several feuds online. Are they just gimmicks?

I’m more interested in sharing love and focusing on music. Let the music do the talking.

Why are you promoting the date: January 27, 2017?

It’s the release of our new single I Love You featuring Kid Ink. We premiered it right here in India at Sunburn only a few weeks ago.

Can we expect to see you be part of a future SRK or SEL soundtrack?

Who knows what the future holds, but I have enjoyed meeting them.
