Kriti Sanon: Don’t want Shah Rukh Khan to give retakes...

Kriti Sanon’s on cloud 9. She’s doing Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale with Shah Rukh Khan, who just happens to be her favourite actor. And there’s constant buzz about her being approached for films with other superstars. It’s a great place to be and she knows it. Here, she talks about Dilwale, other upcoming projects and potential co-stars...

Star-struck when Shah Rukh Khan came visiting on the sets?
It was possibly the best day of my life. I have been his fan ever since I was a kid. I feel blessed I’m getting to do a film with him this early in my career. He came for just one day on the sets of Dilwale and everybody was so happy. He was talking, non-stop. He makes you feel comfortable and takes care of you. He’s a chivalrous man and I really like men who are like that.

Are there scenes between you two?
Well, we haven’t shot together yet. But there a lot of scenes which involves all of us. I have a lot of scenes with Shah Rukh sir, too. But we haven’t shot those portions yet. Shah Rukh sir and Kajol ma’am are shooting in Bulgaria right now. Varun and I have shot for our track already, the portions where only both of us are there. But there are combination scenes where all of us will be there.

All geared up?
(Gasps) When I am in a scene with him, I will be very conscious of my performance I don’t want him to give retakes because of me. That will be an embarrassment. I hope it goes well.

Did he see any of your scenes?
Yes, he has. I think he has seen few scenes from the first schedule which had me and Varun.

What was his feedback on your performance?
We met him at a match. That time, he told me that he has seen few scenes and he really liked it. He told me that I am doing a very good job and that meant the world to me.

When are you guys joining the Dilwale team again?
The next schedule is going to happen in Hyderabad and it is going to be probably in August. I don’t know the exact dates yet. 

Will you be doing any action scenes in Dilwale?
I don’t have any action sequences in the film. If it’s a Rohit Shetty film, it has to have action in it. But it’s not just an action film. It is a romantic comedy. It has comedy to it, drama to it, and a storyline that’s going throughout the film. It has a lot of angles. Action is also one of them and it has to be grand with cars flying and stuff. But I would not say it’s the core of the film. It’s not a hardcore action film. I think it’s a full on paisa vasool entertainer which has al the elements that the audience would like to see.

There are also talks that you have been approached for Sultan..
No, I have not been approached for Sultan. The film I’ve signed on paper is Dilwale. There’s nothing more.

The film with Sushant?
No, I don’t know where all these news come from. I haven’t signed anything post Dilwale.

What about the Heropanti sequel?
Do you know anything about the Heropanti sequel? Then tell me about it (Laughs) I have no idea about that, although I would love to do Heropanti 2 with the same team. It would be fun.
