We spoke at 2 am and yet, Shahid Kapoor was at his liveliest best, even at that late hour, ahead of his janamdin. The actor celebrates his 36th birthday today, had a pre-birthday bash last week and as is known, he won’t be in town. He will join his parents at his guru’s ashram in Amritsar, the Radhasoami Satsang Beas, with wife Mira and daughter Misha in tow. Over to the birthday boy as he shares facts about his birthday...
I’m going out of town. I will be spending the day with my family. Mira and Misha will be there with me. (Smiles)
Yes, of course. I love celebrating birthdays. It’s fun. At different times in life, I have celebrated it in different ways. But there’s always a cake and a lot of screaming, shouting and dancing around!
Yes, but at least this year, I will still get to cut my birthday cake myself!
Actually, there are many... it’s difficult to choose one. I like personalised gifts more... that’s when people think of something attached or connected to you rather than just a piece of clothing or something.
It wasn’t weird, actually. But I was a teenager and I was broke. So I was sitting at home, watching TV. Then I remember a couple of my friends came and took me out. They basically celebrated with me and spent money on me. It wasn’t weird but it was my weirdest birthday till the time my friends came because I had no money to go out and enjoy. That’s something I will remember.
People who I truly share a bond with. That’s most important.
I want to give a blockbuster hit!
